Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas! Sorry our post is so delayed. Life has been a bit hectic with all the holiday happenings and going-ons. We've been blessed to have Alan's family in town including his sister, brother, sister-in-law, neice, nephew, and grandmother!

It was our first time meeting our nephew, Nathan, in person and that was a real treat. He's such a good-tempered, smiley guy! That made him easy to photograph and Uncle Alan was sure to take advantage of that...

Christmas day was at our house and we started with the traditional Palmer family breakfast with Alan's great grandmother's china.

Tracy did up the table with fancy, little Christmas tree napkins.

After breakfast, we read the Christmas story from Luke. Grandma had prepared flannelgraph characters so the girls could help tell the story. She also made them matching Christmas nighties.

Following all those traditions, we broke into the gifts. Both of the girls really got into it and had a great time the rest of the day playing with all their new things.

Unfortunately, Michelle woke up Christmas morning with the flu. :-( But she was at least feeling well enough to watch the girls open their gifts.

Minus the illness that got passed around a bit after Christmas (Alan and Glenda both got it after Michelle), we had a GREAT Christmas and felt especially blessed to have Alan's family with us to celebrate. Even though it's only half of our family, it's good to have family around for the holidays! We hope you were all able to spend quality time with yours.
