It's A Big One So Get Ready!

We're back! We have been away for just over two weeks! Alan finished up another game (Skate 3) so he recieved his comp. time and off we went to California. Why California, you ask? Well, we have lots of friends that just had babies and we wanted to meet them. Also, we moved just over two years ago to Canada and most of our friends had not met Paige, so we wanted to show her off. So we did a big loop to see as many people as we could. (Sorry to those that we did not get to see!) We took a TON of pictures so we have a LOT to show everyone. We have some funny videos too. That will have to be another post...

So to start us off, Easter Sunday. We went to the 'rents for Easter weekend before flying from Bellingham to LA.

Paige really liked searching for eggs! She got so into it we put them out twice for her to hunt them down.

We stayed one night in LA. We landed a bit late and had to get supplies for the long trek. Our first stop the next day was Tehatchapi. We visited our dear friend and her new husband. It was so nice to see them. Paige LOVED the "spin spin spins" (wind turbines) for which Tehatchapi is best known.

Next stop, Fresno. Yes, I'm trying to be brief. There is a LOT. :) Fresno is the home of another friend. He was able to join us for a day trip up to Sequoia National Park. Only to get a flat tire at 6000 feet on the way up and discover the road to Sequoia was closed due to snow. (for the record we did check online for the road conditions and it said it was open) So we ended up going to King's Canyon which was close and we got to see some Sequoia trees.

It is hard to capture the scale of these massive trees in a single photograph, but you can see Alan and Paige in one of the pictures only half way to the tree from the camera and the top of the tree still wouldn't fit into the frame!

(Video to follow shortly)

After two nights in Fresno we were off to Lake Tulloch. Some of our other firends' parents have a house on the lake. We hung out with them for the weekend.

Then we took a little detour to the Fremont area just outside San Fransico to have lunch with some other friends. Then on to San Luis Obispo after that. We stayed at a friend's house there and it was such a relaxing time. While there we went and checked out a waterfall...

While also in SLO, we went to some open country near Santa Margarita Lake. We saw all the wild flowers in bloom. SO beautiful.

We visited the Avlia Pier and a little petting zoo near by.

Paige's favorite was the ducks with the funny "do".

Downtown San Luis Obispo at the Mission. (above)

We also went to Montana De Oro, in Los Osos.

On our way to Camarillo, we stopped to see some family in Ventura. We had a great time seeing them.

Bathtime was a ton of fun.
Our last few nights we were in our old home town of Camarillo. We visited the Venturea Pier and hung out with friends. Man, we have a lot of friends. hehe. just kidding.

We have made it to the end! Lastly, back in Washington, Paige got her first official full haircut. We had quite the set up. DVD playing on the laptop. Grandma making funny sounds and snacks. It was perfect. Paige did OK. It was not her favorite thing as you can tell. But she lived. :)
