So to start us off, Easter Sunday. We went to the 'rents for Easter weekend before flying from Bellingham to LA.
Paige really liked searching for eggs! She got so into it we put them out twice for her to hunt them down.
We stayed one night in LA. We landed a bit late and had to get supplies for the long trek. Our first stop the next day was Tehatchapi. We visited our dear friend and her new husband. It was so nice to see them. Paige LOVED the "spin spin spins" (wind turbines) for which Tehatchapi is best known.
Next stop, Fresno. Yes, I'm trying to be brief. There is a LOT. :) Fresno is the home of another friend. He was able to join us for a day trip up to Sequoia National Park. Only to get a flat tire at 6000 feet on the way up and discover the road to Sequoia was closed due to snow. (for the record we did check online for the road conditions and it said it was open) So we ended up going to King's Canyon which was close and we got to see some Sequoia trees.
It is hard to capture the scale of these massive trees in a single photograph, but you can see Alan and Paige in one of the pictures only half way to the tree from the camera and the top of the tree still wouldn't fit into the frame!
Then we took a little detour to the Fremont area just outside San Fransico to have lunch with some other friends. Then on to San Luis Obispo after that. We stayed at a friend's house there and it was such a relaxing time. While there we went and checked out a waterfall...
While also in SLO, we went to some open country near Santa Margarita Lake. We saw all the wild flowers in bloom. SO beautiful.
We visited the Avlia Pier and a little petting zoo near by.
We also went to Montana De Oro, in Los Osos.
On our way to Camarillo, we stopped to see some family in Ventura. We had a great time seeing them.
